This teddy bears is made up of various traditional technique of Tsugaru. He was named Tsugaru Kumagoro Tamenobu in honor of Japanese daimyo Tamenobu Tsugaru.

His name is long, so to make it easy, call him Kumagoro.

The most distinct characteristics of Kumagoro is it’s body.

Eco friendly life in Tsugaru that used valuable cotton cloth until it is fully worn out, Sakiori was born. Sakiori is a textile woven with recycled fabrics, so none of the pattern is ever the same. With such a unique textile, all the KumagoroTeddy Bear is all one of a kind.

For the stuffing for Kumagoro Teddy Bear, Aomori cypress sawdust is used. It is mixed with Polyester in order to keep the softness. Aomori cypress has a hinokitiol which has a bug repellent effect and also an aroma.

Kumagoro has an innocent expression. He has grass eyes and nose that is made of freshwater clam shell (Lake Jusan) covered in leather buckskin.

Another characteristic of Kumagoro is that he is wearing a necktie. Often Teddy Bear wears a ribbon, but Kumagoro is made to be different. On the necktie, there is a Tsugaru style cross stitch called Koginzashi. The design or the pattern of Koginzashi is decided in talk with each Kumagoro.

Each limb is movable and held in place with either Tsugaru-Nuri(Natural tree sap lacquer) or buckskin leather covered button. This is also decided in talk with Kumagoro.

Inside of the ear, Palm, and Sole are basically made with buck skin leather.

Each and Every Kumagoro is custom made one by one from woving each textile. Also many different traditional technique are used to be unique and original. This is the only place where you can find such a specially made Teddy Bear!
